An Empty Sandwich
Can you imagine craving a yummy sandwich, buying it, sitting down in anticipation, and then when you open it BAM! The sandwich is basically empty? That is exactly what happened to this person, and all they could do was look at the inside of the sandwich in disbelief because whoever used that marketing tactic was surely onto something.
From the outside, the sandwich seems to be filled with ham and cheese, but on the inside, it's something completely different. It sure worked—it really looked delicious!
An Incomplete Styrofoam Birthday Cake
Choosing the right person to make a birthday cake may take some people a while. You know, you get some reviews, a good price quote, and then you go for that cake.
But this birthday kid really didn't expect to find that his cake was half cake, half Styrofoam. From the outside, the cake looked huge, but the icing was actually hiding the real deal. What a disappointment!
This Sneaky Box Of Chocolates
Mark our words, this will sadly not be the first time you see a box of chocolates so empty. Marketing strategies change every day, and some companies will do whatever they have to do to sell a product.
If it wasn't so disappointing, we would say that whoever created this chocolate box cover was pretty brilliant. There is no way in the world that a customer would ever know that the inside of the box looked this way.
Six Oreos And A Fancy Tin
Fancy tins often work pretty well as a marketing strategy, and the person who snapped this picture surely did fall for it. When they saw this unusual oreo box made of tin at the supermarket they couldn't help but feel intrigued.
But when they opened it, the entire thing literally had six oreo cookies, and the rest was well... just an empty box.
A Half-Empty Spice Jar
If you like your spices, then you probably know that those bottles often come with a lot to give! They certainly make our cooking taste much better, but it can be really bittersweet to buy a little container that has only half of the spice.
Whoever is responsible to pack the product did a pretty impressive job in hiding the truth with a sticker.
The Poppy Seed In This Brioche Is Missing
Brioche snacks like this one are a quick way to have a snack on the go, especially during really busy days. So just imagine the disappointment this person experienced when they took a bite of their poppy seed brioche and realized that there was barely any poppy seed in it.
The wrapper had really nothing to do with the real thing, and we can't help but feel kind of sorry for this person.
An Empty Box Of Beef Jerky
Yet again, here goes another example of a box that comes with many promises, but ends up leaving the customer empty-handed. This beef jerky brand was like "let's put lots of beef on the sides, and nothing in the middle" and that is exactly what they did.
We're pretty sure that if the person read the number of grams they would realize that there wasn't much inside, but sadly they had to learn it the hard way.
The Literal Meaning Of Sour Cream On The Side
So, it seems like this restaurant takes orders pretty literally, and this couple could not handle how funny the entire situation was. When they went out for lunch, the wife decided that some extra sour cream wouldn't hurt.
But after she asked for some "extra sour cream on the side," someone took the request too literally and added some extra sour cream on the side of the taco.
Adding Some Air To Their Packages
It is a pretty known thing that bags of chips are full of air—and this is not specific to any brand - it's just common everywhere. But this person couldn't believe it when they saw that a new type of packaging branded as a "bigger bag" only came with more air and the same amount of chips.
Compared to the regular bag, this new branding tactic ended up leaving many people disappointed. We would be too!
A Very Curious Bagel Situation
We're not really sure what happened here. It could (hopefully) be an honest mistake, and someone completely missed the fact that half of this bagel had no vegetables in it.
Mistake or not, whoever bought the bagel just had their heart broken when they realized that their snack came with one piece of cucumber, one piece of tomato, a bit of lettuce, and all the rest was just cream cheese.
Vanilla Ice Cream Advertised As Oreo
Someone must have forgotten to add the Oreo part to this vanilla ice cream because this customer was not happy! Curiously, we can see by this photo that they decided to eat the ice cream anyway, so at least they got to eat some ice cream that night.
They also shared the hilarious ice cream fail with their friends online and no one could handle how funny the whole situation was.
Not The Most Delicate Broccoli
While delicate is not necessarily a word we would use to describe broccoli, this packaging did so, and they totally failed at delivering it to their customers.
This person thought they were buying a bunch of "delicate" roses of broccoli for their dinner, but when they opened the package, they literally found the biggest piece of broccoli they had ever seen, ouch!
The Strangest Popcorn Package
So, before you feel like this is an extremely deceiving popcorn packaging, hear us out. At first glance, it certainly looks like something went wrong in the making of this popcorn package.
But after some investigation, we realized that the entire package situation is an advertisement for the cardboard that can be filled with as much popcorn as you want. The popcorn inside of it is "just an example."
A Tiny Extra Piece Of Bacon
When we ask for something extra at a restaurant, we are usually willing to pay the price they ask because we know we're getting something yummy.
But it seems like this place didn't get the memo because when this person ordered an extra piece of bacon for $6, they were surprised to get this tiny piece of bacon on their plate. What else can one do but laugh at a situation such as this one?
A Cinnamon Bagel With One Raisin
Now, this is another one that could have been an innocent mistake by whoever baked this cinnamon bagel. This person was getting ready to put some yummy spreads on their bagel, so they cut it in half.
To their surprise, there was a tiny raisin lost on the side of the bagel, and no other raisins at all. If we look at the positive side, at least they got one raisin - it could have been nothing.
A Burrito In Disguise
When this customer saw this packaged burrito at the supermarket they thought to themselves "this is huge!" So they bought it right away and were ready to eat their jackpot lunch.
But just imagine their surprise when they opened the package and realized that the burrito was cut in half, and was considerably smaller than what it looked like at the supermarket.
A Typical Expectation Vs Reality
We have all probably seen tons of expectation vs. reality posts on social media, calling out places that make meals very differently from the ones they advertise.
The trend has become a huge joke because it is so common, that one cannot help but relate to others who have experienced something similar. Hopefully, the huge box of nachos was at least somewhat tasty!
A Really Empty Breakfast Wrap
When this person ordered a breakfast wrap, they asked the establishment to not include an egg in it. Unfortunately, the egg is what actually takes up most of the space in the wrap, so without it, it looks pretty empty.
While they probably hoped that the wrap would be filled with other ingredients, it ended coming only with a few pieces of bacon, cheese, and what looks like a bit of mayo.
A Muffin With One Chocolate Chip
When we hear "chocolate chip muffin," we don't necessarily assume that that is literally what we are about to get. So when this person bought this muffin and they realized that the snack came with only one chocolate chip, they couldn't help but find the whole thing ironic.
Now we know. Next time it might just be better to double-check, just in case there's a little surprise in there.
A Disappointing Cannoli
If you're not familiar with what cannoli is, it is an Italian pastry treat that consists of fried pastry dough filled with a yummy filling usually made of ricotta and some other delicious ingredients.
The filling usually really takes over the entire inside of the pastry, so what we're looking at here isn't necessarily your traditional cannoli, it might be a slimmer version of it.
Conversation Hearts With No Words
On Valentine's Day, many couples do their best to give their significant others meaningful presents. This guy's girlfriend really put some thought into it and decided to give him these wonderful conversation hearts.
None of them could stop laughing though when the guy opened the package and realized that the conversation hearts came with no words. Oh well, it's the thought that counts.
This "Avocado Nigiri" From A Sushi Restaurant
When we finally decide to go out to a sushi restaurant for a yummy meal, our expectations are usually pretty high. When this person saw "avocado nigiri" as an option, that was exactly what they wanted!
But then, their plate arrived, and this is what they got. A bunch of avocados seasoned on a beautiful leaf. We can't help but wonder where on earth was the actual nigiri?
When The Package Is Tempting, But The Content Isn't
It's pretty clear at this point that not every package is true to what is actually on the inside. It is a tactic that is used by many advertisers, so we should always know that we're buying at our own risk.
However, when the snack comes in the color neon, which is not particularly a color we would expect in any food, that might be a red flag already. But hey, who knows, maybe they are the most delicious garlic bread pieces out there.
Unappealing Chocolate Cookies
If this isn't the funniest chocolate cookie fail ever, then we don't know what is. The photo in the package makes the cookies look incredible, with tons of chocolate chunks all over them.
But then, someone discovered that the cookies look completely different on the inside of the package, they come with a lone chocolate chip and an entirely different and unappealing cookie color, yikes!
This Is What Comes Inside A Package Of Paleta Payaso
Okay, so we might not be looking at the biggest scam out there - it depends on what your expectations are. No one really expects to get a piece of candy with the face of the kid on the cover, right?
But this person most definitely did expect more than this funny-looking piece of chocolate-coated marshmallow in a stick. Funny enough, most people who are familiar with the candy know that it looks really unusual, and sometimes it can look pretty scary.
A £5 Tomato Salad
Some restaurants out there seem to really do their best to improvise when someone orders something and they're missing the ingredients. That is what we're guessing this place did because their tomato salad surely looks like something that was put together in a panic.
They were even kind enough to put two different types of tomato and some pieces of onion, what's not to love?
A Tiny Bit Of Root Beer With Ice
Here's a rookie rule, if you want ice on your drink, always ask for it on the side. Whatever it is, it will probably already come somewhat cold, and you can then add how much ice you really want.
Then, you'll also be able to avoid a situation like this, where the drink comes with much more ice than the actual drink.
Where's The Rest Of The Ice Cream?
This ice cream either really shrank, or something fishy happened because there is way too much space to fill in this ice cream cone. When this person was enthusiastically peeling off the cover of their ice cream cone, they really couldn't handle the amount of ice cream that was missing.
That is not to say that all brands of ice cream are like this one, so don't give up hope folks!
A Blueberry Muffin With A Surprise
There is no doubt that the top part of this blueberry muffin looks really yummy! The blueberries and crumble look absolutely delicious on the upper part, the only thing is that this person was expecting something similar throughout the whole muffin.
But when they cut it in half to eat it more easily, they noticed that the rest of the muffin was just your plain vanilla treat. How disappointing!
Not Much Of A Jumbo Shrimp
If you're a shrimp eater, then you probably know that getting jumbo shrimp for a good price is a rare occasion. Unless you live in a country that is flooding with fresh seafood, of course.
So when this customer found these jumbo shrimps they really thought they had gotten a bargain, but in the end, the shrimps weren't as jumbo as they had been advertised.
Short Sour Sticks
Sour sticks are one of the most loved vintage snacks out there, and they are pretty much popular all over the world. While every one of them might leave a "bitter taste in one's mouth," this one probably did it with a little extra spice.
To this person's surprise, the sticks came pretty short in relation to the size of the package.
Buy Four For The Price Of Five
Apparently, this person is an avid chocolate lover, and so they have been buying this specific pack of chocolates for a while. For the longest time, the pack came with five chocolates, but one day they realized something odd.
The whole concept had changed, and the pack now came with four chocolates instead of five, plus a piece of cardboard that made it seem like there were more chocolates than there actually were.
A Pack Of Fresh Broccoli Stems
Frozen broccoli is usually a great way of saving time and adding some important greens while cooking a meal. But we're not really sure what happened here. It doesn't seem like this person signed up for buying a whole pack of broccoli stems, but that's what they got.
Sure, they probably come with some nutrients, but this is certainly the first time we see an entire pack of frozen broccoli filled with just the stems.
Blueberry Granola With One Blueberry
It seems to be more common than not to find a single item of something in food packages that advertise this item as the main ingredient. Look at this blueberry granola for example.
This person was pretty confused when they opened the package and realized that the granola came with only one singular blueberry. The rest of the package had only the granola part, and probably some blueberry flavoring.
A Tomato Can With A Hole In The Middle
Well, we weren't expecting this one. Apparently, tomato cans may also come with a little surprise, and while it's sad, we can't deny that the whole thing is pretty funny.
After this person bought a 12 Oz can of tomato paste, they found a hollow middle that could've been filled with so much more tomato paste. At least they still had something to work with.
The Biggest Extra Tomato Out There
While most things on the list point towards something lacking, this person definitely experienced the opposite. When they ordered a burger at their local fast-food stand, they asked for some extra tomato.
To their surprise, someone was feeling very generous that day because they added the most giant piece of tomato we've ever seen. In fact, by the looks of this picture, the tomato was almost the same size as the actual burger.
This Not So "Extra" Barbecue Sauce
This burger left a lot to be desired. Just like the previous person, this customer wanted a little extra something in their burger in order to make it tastier. So they asked for their favorite sauce, barbeque!
They happily got the burger, opened the wrapping, and couldn't believe the amount of "extra" barbeque they had gotten. Oh well, better luck next time.
Where's The Chocolate?
Chocolate is just one of those things that makes everything better in life. So when we buy a package of biscuits with melted chocolate inside, we probably expect a generous amount of chocolate in there.
Funny enough, these biscuits came with just a tiny bit of chocolate to warm this person's soul. Hopefully, they still tasted somewhat delicious and the person didn't feel so much of a loss.
The Sneakiest Trick
Let's just admit it, something about this trick is just plain funny! Instead of filling the mug with sweets (as the package had suggested), this person ended up getting a mug with a huge piece of carton and a few jolly ranchers.
But hey, let's take this as a lesson. If you're planning to buy a mug similar to this one at a dollar store, check out the inside of it before you buy it just in case.
Lacking Some Chocolate On The Inside
Here goes another snack that should have probably had a little more chocolate, but ended up feeling pretty empty for this customer. When they posted their disappointment online, they jokingly said "I didn't know you had to buy the chocolate separately."
But that's just what it is, sometimes we have to deal with little tricks like this one, and be vigilant for the next time.
Two Sprinkles On A Doughnut
There are a few theories that we could come up with for this doughnut. One of them is that the doughnut was simply not supposed to have sprinkles, and instead, someone accidentally dropped these two.
The other theory revolves around someone not having a great day, and not bothering to sprinkle up the poor doughnut. The good news is that there is still a good chance that the doughnut was actually delicious.
When The Uncle Orders A Cake
This one most certainly became a recurring joke in the family, after the uncle was responsible for ordering a Frozen-themed cake, and showed up at the party with this cake. The attempt is there, that's for sure, but someone wasn't really feeling the theme.
Next time, they might want to actually look at the person's previous work to make sure the result will be a tiny bit more precise than this one.
This Disconnected Candy Bar
It looks like another person wasn't inspired at work, or there was an honest mistake made in the manufacturing of this candy. And the funniest thing is that the colors are not even connected, which is literally the last thing one would expect of the famous snack.
We do wonder if the candy actually does measure at one foot the way it was advertised.
A $10 Slice Of Cake
We're guessing that it's not always that this person orders a piece of cake, but when they do and they pay $10 for it, the expectations are probably high. To the person's surprise, the piece of cheesecake was tiny, and the box could have easily fit another piece.
Hopefully, this is a very delicious cheesecake, which might justify its unusual price and size.
A Fish Filled With Onions
It might take you a second to understand what's happening in this picture, so let's just break it down. This person bought this package with fish in it, and they thought that a good amount of fish came in it.
But then, when they removed the paper, they realized that most of the inside was actually filled with onion, and the fish had only been placed on the exterior part of the package, yikes!
