Cars are incredible. They get us where we need to go, they can keep us safe, and they are cool to look at. But every so often we see a car that is hideous! It could be the paint, the wheels, or just the body that makes it so bad. It’s incredible what humans can think of when it comes to designing cars. Some ideas are better than others. We have gathered a list of some of the most insane car upgrades to exist. So, sit back and have a laugh at some of the cars on this list.
Ugly Cool
We don’t even know where to start with this one. Sometimes you just have to wonder what the hell people are thinking when they go and create these things. This truck looks nuts. It doesn’t even look like it should work! We’re sure that the police have pulled this car over a few times before. If not for being illegal on the roads, then because they are curious about how the car works.
We are not even sure how the person gets inside of it! As ugly as it is, it would be kind of cool to take a ride inside of it.
Horrible
This is horrible. It looks like a car that a cartoon character would drive. We can’t understand why there is a goal in the back seat. And why are the seats lime green and fuzzy? Whoever drives this car must get so many looks and stares as they go around the city. The outside of it is ugly and strange, but the inside is something that we can’t even begin to understand.
This car is bad but if you need to get places, and this is your only option, then we guess it works. Maybe this person likes the attention the car gets!
Little House
We don’t know what is going on in this picture, but we do know that a truck isn’t supposed to have that on the back of it. The wheels are either going to pop, or the little house on the back is going to fall over the side. Maybe this person uses the house when they get tired of driving. If that’s the case, that’s actually a pretty smart idea!
This one is wild. It’s ugly but depending on what the person driving the car is using the back part for, it may not actually be that bad! We still wouldn’t drive the car though.
Perfect Example
Some people should have their driver’s license taken away for ugly cars. This guy is a perfect example of one of those people. He must have to use a ladder to climb into the driver’s seat. The wheels don’t even look real! They look like they were built for a monster truck and not a sports car. If you saw this on the street, you probably wouldn’t even think it was real.
Whoever owns this car took a decent looking car and turned it into something atrocious. This car shouldn’t be legal anywhere! Not just because it’s unsafe, but because of how it looks!
Basketmobile
Out of all of the cars on this list so far, this one seems the least insane. It’s quite cool. Imagine you and your friends can’t find somewhere to play basketball, but now you don’t have to worry about that. You’ll always have a hoop ready! Still, this is probably not legal. We can’t imagine, no matter how cool it may seem, that the laws allow for this to happen.
The owner of this car is innovative. It’s hard to be upset with them when it seems tame compared to other cars on the list. Besides, who doesn’t like basketball?
Gang
This car has a lot going on. We’re not even sure where to start, to be honest. “Big Wang Gang” is all you need to see to know that it’s probably not true about the person driving. It’s still funny! We’re sure plenty of people get a laugh out of that one. After that, you have the ‘Honk If You Have Crippling Depression’ on the back window. We’re sure that gets lots of responses!
One thing about owning your own car is that you can do whatever you want to it. It’s yours, so it doesn’t matter if anyone else likes it or not. This guy completely understands that!
Little Face
We think the front of this car looks like a little face. But we have a hard time believing that a car so clean and polished has ever been offroad like the front window reads. Also, the colors of this car are a lot to deal with. They go together, but they are still kind of ugly. We hope we don’t come across this car on the road someday. That would be wild.
Everyone is entitled to do what they want with their car, so we can’t be too mad with this person’s choice. That doesn’t mean we have to like it. And we don’t like this.
Hand in Hand
Some people have very wild imaginations. That is pretty evident in the photo of this person’s car. It’s actually pretty funny. And who knows, they could be a horror fan or just someone that is extremely lonely and needs to hold a hand every once in a while. Whatever the reason, we can’t hate them for this creative addition to their car, no matter how strange it is. People do crazy things!
This guy is a creative person. We just want to know how effective this actually is. Seems like it could get in the way sometimes. That could be dangerous for everyone on the road.
This Works
There is absolutely no way that this car actually works. The weight of the car, and the metal of the rim, have to pop the bottles. It’s amazing that they are even still together in this photo. We won’t lie, if we saw this riding down the road, we would laugh and try to get the person’s attention. It would be a crazy thing to see up close and in person.
If you ever got thirsty during a road trip, and you were riding in this car, at least you wouldn't have to stop anywhere to get a beverage. That’s would be pretty convenient!
Family Car
Yeah, we have no clue what is going on in this photo. This little car, which looks like a family car, has been fitted with tractor wheels. It looks insane, and it’s hard to believe that anyone would want to own this car. The picture also shows it in mud, which is probably the only surface you could drive it on. There’s no way you can take this on the road.
Why? That’s all we’re wondering. Why would you do this to your car? What do you get out of it? And once again, we have to wonder how you even get in the driver’s seat.
Confusing
Well, this is confusing. We’re not even sure which side is the front which side is the back! That seems confusing. There’s a lot wrong with this car. The size of the tires, the length of the car, the ugly green paint that it has. It’s all so bad. Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder because there is no way anyone other than the owner likes this car.
This car looks like one big mistake. It looks like they tried to do one thing, and then it didn’t go right. They should just get rid of this car.
Creativity
You know what, we have to give this person some credit for the creativity. We can’t imagine that he’s fooling anyone with this basketball, but it is creative. There’s a good chance that sometime in the near future this person is going to get busted, so, we hope he’s ready for that. But for now, hopefully, he enjoys all the honks and waves he’s probably getting from people passing him.
Some people will go to extreme lengths to avoid paying money for fixes. That’s understandable. But this solution to the problem is a little bit much. Hopefully, he hasn’t caused an accident.
HDMI
Humor is always appreciated. And to be fair to the owner of this car, that part of their car does look like an HDMI port that you would see on a television or computer. Could you imagine how big of a cable that would be to have to get that work! We’re curious if that person had that painted onto their car, or if it’s just a sticker they can take off.
This is pretty hilarious. Whoever made that sticker, or painted that on, probably had a good laugh while they were doing it! This is great! We’ve never seen something like this before.
LOL RUN
We can’t hate on this one. Once again, we aren’t sure if it is street legal, but if you saw this as another driver it wouldn’t bring a smile out. Things like this make long boring drives worth it. You see something like this while on the road, and you know that you are never going to forget it! You and your friends will be talking about it for a while.
We’re not sure who the person driving the car is, but there’s a good chance that they have a good sense of humor. We wonder what else they’ve done to the car.
Smarter Not Harder
Honestly, this guy seems like a genius. Not only is he saving money from not buying a new car, but he’s also created something completely new. Does it look weird? Yes. Does it look a little scary? Yes. But it can be driven, and we think that’s the important thing to focus on here. Seeing this pull up next to you in a parking space would be kind of funny.
This man is a legend. Combing two cars together to create one mega car is a perfect example of working smarter not harder. This guy is an absolute mastermind! We like him a lot.
Transformer
We’re not even sure where to really start with this one. It looks like the mix between a transformer and a parade float. And on first look, you can’t even see the door. Maybe it just drives on its own. Either way, it is ugly. The upgrades to this car, if you can call them that, did nothing to help its appearance. We’re having a hard time believing that this is legal.
The craziest thing about this car is that someone was able to even build it. It’s hideous, but we’re still amazed that someone could craft this. That’s kind of amazing!
Grass
Covering your van in fake grass is one way to keep the paint clean. Maybe that’s what the owner was going for. We’re not really sure. But if he was trying to make a van that was funny and didn’t look even the slightest bit suspicious, he failed. He failed big time. This is hideous. Hopefully, someone convinces him to eventually take it off and just go with the normal paint. Wow!
The car looks so bad that it’s easy to overlook the fact that his license plate reads ‘Poo 4 Two’. We aren’t sure what’s going on inside that truck, and that’s fine with us!
Vin
This would scare a few people. They may think that they are seeing the movie star Vin Diesel, which would be shocking and cool. Or they may think that the person pulling up next to them is looking for a street race. Not the type of thing you want to do if you're driving a minivan. Either way, this window tint is still funny. We’re sure that most people laugh at it.
How nuts would it be to think that you saw Vin Diesel at the stoplight. You’d speed back home just to be able to tell everyone. Then you’d have to tell them the truth!
Texas
This is horrible. At first look, it makes no sense why all these things are on this car. It’s so unnecessary. But once you take a closer look, you can see that the car is the “Texas Edition”. That makes everything in this photo make so much more sense. Those people down in Texas are a different breed. They play by their own rules. Even if those rules mean making awful looking trucks.
Texas is a big state. It’s massive. Somehow, even with all the people down there, they manage to all have the same bad taste in things. This truck is ugly!
Hazard
We’re not even sure how this car is even staying up. It looks like it should be tipping over and falling into the next lane. It goes without saying, but if you are going to modify your car, you should probably make sure that those modifications actually work. That doesn’t seem to be the case here. We’re curious if this person made it wherever they were heading without causing any unnecessary damage to things.
This looks like a big hazard. He seems to have it under control, but who knows how long that may last. We wish him luck wherever he is going. Yikes!
Airbag Stone
This is quite an interesting picture. We don’t know what to say. This person probably thinks that those rocks have some sort of energy that will keep them safe while driving, but we aren’t so sure that that’s going to be the case. Especially if they get into an accident and the airbag goes off. Those rocks are going to turn into projectile missiles! They may want to rethink their plan.
People are such interesting creatures. To think that rock is going to keep you safe while driving is nuts. It’s a bad plan to put all your faith into something that isn’t alive!
Chandelier
This definitely isn’t legal, but it is pretty badass. We can’t lie, if we were to see this on the street while driving, we would probably risk our lives to try and snap a photo of it. It’s weird, strange, but really creative and kind of cool. If this person designed their car like this, just imagine what the inside of their house probably looks like. We’re sure it’s insane and full of weird things.
Probably the cops would be pulling them over for those chandeliers, but it doesn’t make it any less cool. This person is way ahead of the times. We love it.
Bowling
The skulls on the back door, the “All Evil” license plate, the bowling balls that are supposed to look like testicles. It’s all so cheesy and stupid. What makes it even better is the fact that he has stickers showing that he has a family. We wonder if his kids and wife are ok with this silly car. What a waste. These upgrades don’t do anything but make the car look trashy.
Wow! This person has done nothing but a waste ton of their money on this car. It’s not cool, it’s not even creative. It’s just weird. Maybe he has another car at home he drives.
Toast
Look, we aren’t going to get mad at anyone for enjoying a bit of toast. It’s the perfect breakfast food! But turning your car into a toaster with two pieces of toast and a bit of butter is a bit much. We can only hope that this person drives this around as a form of advertisement, or he’s doing it for fun. We bet his kids hate when he picks them up from school.
The idea is awesome, but we’re just worried that this may be his only car. That would be pretty unfortunate if he had to go to work with this car.
Honest
This guy is being as honest as possible. It’s a funny joke, and we’re sure that people who drive behind this car probably get a good laugh out of it. What makes it better is that this person is from Florida. People down there are nuts! This is a perfect example of that. We just pray that he can afford gas and everything else he needs to keep the car rolling.
This one is awesome. Sometimes you need something to laugh at while you’re driving. This car would be a welcome sight on any street or highway! Maybe we will come across it one day!
Couch
Well, this definitely has to be illegal. It looks incredibly comfortable, but if this person gets pulled over, they are headed straight to jail. We are not against innovation and creativity, though. It seems like this person is all about comfort. It would be awesome to be in the passenger seat. Sitting on a couch cushion would be a much better place to take a nap than a regular car seat!
We’re curious about how they even managed to fit this massive couch in the car! Whoever did this has definitely done this once before. This looks dangerous and comfortable all in one!
Optimist
The engineer behind this car was probably fired soon after this one left the production line. Nothing about this car is redeeming. It looks like a Hot Wheels car that never made it past the drawing table. We have to imagine that the person who put the sale sign on the car is the world’s biggest optimist. We can’t think of anyone who would want to be caught dead in this car.
This is an interesting car. We doubt anyone will buy it, but you never know. The blue and yellow design may attract a random Swedish person. Maybe there is hope!
Brick
This is certainly an interesting car. We’re curious about the inspiration and the reasoning behind putting a brick exterior on the car. We guess they would be extra protected if they were to ever get in an accident, but this is not good for carwashes. As strange as it is, it’s also pretty mesmerizing. It looks well done. Whoever did it took a lot of time on it. We have to applaud them for that.
This is odd, but it’s cool. We’re not sure we can call it an upgrade exactly, but it is fun to look at. We bet that this person is a big hit in their neighborhood.
Patrick
To have Patrick from SpongeBob SquarePants on the rims of your car is nuts. How did they even think of this? We’re not saying that it looks bad, but it’s just a little weird for a grown person to be driving around with this in their car. We’re sure it gets a lot of stares and attention, and maybe that’s what the owner of the car is after. To each their own!
The owner of this car probably dreamt about doing this for years. Maybe even as a kid. And now that they have the money, they went ahead and did it. Congrats to them!
Flare
This is an interesting upgrade to a car. We’re not sure that any of it will work for him, but it looks cool. And to be honest, it gives the little car a bit more flare than it had before. You can’t be too mad about that. We’re not sure if the upgrades will increase the speed and performance, but that’s alright. They look decent. Sometimes that’s all that matters.
This one is interesting. Cardboard and tape upgrades seem like a low-budget way to do things, but maybe that’s what they are into. If that’s the case, then so be it.
Toy Car
From a distance, this looks like a toy car. But, no, this one is meant for real people. It looks cramped! Could you even imagine riding with this one and pulling up next to a semi-truck or a big truck? That would be insane. Those massive cars could probably crush this little thing if they tipped over. And whoever built it may need another lesson in engineering. Those wheels are too close.
This car looks pretty cool. A bit small, but people would buy this one to drive and live in. We like this little car. We wish we had it for ourselves.
Little Thing
How does this even work? This doesn’t seem like it's safe for anything to be in. It also looks like it can’t move anything. Snow, mud, dirt, whatever it’s trying to move is likely bigger and heavier than it. It's hard to believe that anyone would have paid actual money for this little thing, but someone did. Who knows, maybe it’s much stronger than it looks. Looks can be deceiving!
People can get pretty creative. That looks to be the case with this little car with a plow on the front of it. We're not sure how effective it is, but it’s alright.
Rims
You know, people would probably talk down about this, but with the way society works now, we wouldn't be surprised one bit if this started a trend that took off. There would be people all over the internet talking about how they knitted a pattern for the rims of their cars. People would show them off, brag about how nice they were and how much they paid for them, all that stuff that happens.
Someone clearly has a grandmother who loves them! This is actually pretty cool. It’s ultimately useless in the long run, but it looks nice. We’re sure this person feels pretty special.
Terrifying
This one is terrifying. We’re sure that the owner probably thinks that it’s funny, or maybe even friendly-looking, but it’s horrifying. This is the type of thing you would see in a nightmare one day. Imagine riding at night, you’re all alone, and this thing appears on the opposite side of you. You are going to lose your mind and probably pull off the road. There’s no way that this thing isn’t demented.
What the hell was the owner of this car even thinking about? This is one of the scariest things we have seen in a while. There’s no love for this. We hate it!
Blue
You have to do what you have to do sometimes. That’s exactly what the owner of this car did with this car. This panel is not blue, but the message on it says otherwise! This car is both funny and resourceful. We’re pretty sure that the person driving this car never even thought to change that panel; they just stuck with this one for as long as they had the car.
It may not be pretty, but if it works, it works. That’s all that matters sometimes. We can only hope that this guy likes his car and doesn’t worry about what others have to say.
